What is "Sulong Igorot"?

Sulong Igorot is a project aimed at promoting and preserving the cultural heritage of the Igorot people, especially in the Cordillera region of the Philippines. The project leverages modern media and communication tools to create digital content that showcases the richness and diversity of Igorot culture. Its mission is to provide an accurate and inclusive representation of Igorot culture, empower the Igorot community through cultural awareness, pride, and cultural tourism, and contribute to the preservation and protection of the Igorot cultural heritage for future generations to appreciate and enjoy.

What are the main goals of the project?

Increase Cultural Awareness and Appreciation of Igorot Culture

We seek to increase cultural awareness and appreciation of the Igorot culture. The project aims to create digital content that showcases the richness and diversity of Igorot culture and to disseminate this content through its channels to reach a wider audience. By doing so, we hope to provide a more accurate and inclusive representation of Igorot culture, which can help address the lack of recognition of Igorot culture by the government and the wider society. This goal seeks to encourage non-Igorot Filipinos and tourists to appreciate and respect the Igorot culture.
